7 tips for a successful graduation senior photo session.

06/10/2016 ,

The summer is here and it’s the best time to start thinking about senior pictures for the class of 2017!

I’m offering you “Graduation seniors pictures” photo session. Session fee is $180 and includes up to 1-2 hours at two desired locations with 2-3 wardrobe changes, all retouching digital images and print release.

As a photographer I’m so excited to work with the graduation seniors and would like to share a few helpful tips to help you to prepare for your successful photo session.

  1. Location of photo session

I would recommend to have this session outside. In order to decide on the best location for you, please, let me know:

  • What are your the most favourite places around?
  • What kind of session would you prefer (e.g. casual, sport, evening dress, fashionable or any combination).
  1. Clothing
  • Please, bring 4-5 outfits with you , so we may choose the best 2-3 of them or can mix it.
  • Keep your clothes on hangers.
  • Make sure your clothes are ironed, ready to go and you feel comfortable wearing it.
  • DO NOT wear colorful clothes or clothes displaying a large pattern or logo.
  • If you have difficulties with choosing the outfit, I would recommend to google for some ideas. Also, happy to share some suggestions from my Pinterest board – let me know!
  1. Shoes
  • Bring a few different pairs of shoes. Girls, it would be great if you include heels. You will look great on the photos
  • Shoes can be a neutral article of clothing or an important accent color.
  • Do Not recommend flip-flops
  • Make sure your shoes are clean, polished and look good.
  1. Hair and makeup
  • Have you hair, nails and makeup done before the session. Makeup should be a bit more intense than you usually have
  • Bring hair spray, clips, pins, makeup kit, brush and mirror
  • Think about hair changes. It should be quick and simple.
  1. Accessories and jewelry
  • Accessories can make or break your look . Choose accessories and jewelry carefully matching colour and size. Consider to complement each outfit with its own accessories
  • Avoid too large items of jewelry
  1. Props

More stylistic or color accents can be created by use of props from your everyday life or celebrations:

  • Sports equipment (balls, baseball bat, cheerleading poms, etc.) and sports uniforms
  • Musical instruments
  • Flowers
  • Balloons or sparkles
  • Books
  • Flag
  • Other decorations (e.g. year written on a little black board, or scrabble type letters)
  1. How to relax and enjoy the session

The best shots usually happen when we feel relaxed, happy and comfortable. Try to relax a bit before the session, take some time to listen to your favorite music and  remember the best moments of your life. They will definitely then radiate on your face, and we’ll be able to capture this moment.

If you want to book your session, please feel free to contact me.

That’s it! See you soon!
